Job Description Summary We are a middle school that supports all aspects of a student’s life and assures each student is engaged in exploratory experiences to further prepare them for college and career readiness.

Description & Clients Served: Santiago is located in the “East Orange” feeder pattern for the Orange Unified School District. We serve 7th and 8th-grade students from our local neighborhoods, and most of our students attend El Modena High School after promotion from 8th grade. We facilitate learning in all core subject areas (math, science, English, history, and PE), but we are most famous for the variety of opportunities we provide for our students through our electives, our intramural sports programs, and our newly established Arts Conservatory, and Expanded Learning Program (after school program).
Responsibilities
  • Working with small groups of students to help with academic questions. Higher-level math assistance will be needed which may include Algebra and Geometry. Tutors will need to be strong in supporting students with their academic needs in all subject areas, and also be able to manage a small group of middle school students & their behaviors.

  • This is an after-school position, available to those willing to facilitate group activities, games, and homework help. Counselors should enjoy working with middle school students but also will need to be able to manage students & their behaviors. Will need to be available until 6:30 PM daily.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Must complete district paperwork to work with students

Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
