The Role

 

We are looking for a Supply Chain Officer who is to work as part of the logistics team, managing all responsibilities related to local procurement. The position holder will use the Helios system and be familiar with it in order to ensure quality procurement management assistance for the Ethiopian program.

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university/college in Operations, Business, Logistics, or other areas that bring added value to the related job.
  • Relevant logistic experience of 2-3 years (including, Logistics and Supplies management), preferably in an international NGO.
  • Have proven experience in supply chain-related skills
  • Excellent diplomacy, tact, and negotiation skills, and good interpersonal and team skills, together with the capacity to remain calm under pressure and not lose sight of strategic priorities.
  • Good working knowledge of English,
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
  • Commitment to Oxfam’s equal opportunity and gender policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into logistics programmes as an advantage.
  • To be familiar with and abide by the NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, the People in Aid Code, Oxfam International procedures, and other regulatory codes.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into logistics programmes as an advantage.
  • Willingness to a travel app. 30% to field bases.
  • 3rd Grade Driving License

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of Helios system or related supply system software is advantageous
  • Knowledge of gender issues
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and provide solutions to problems as they arise.

Knowledge of other Ethiopian languages would be an asset
