JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for leading and supervising the Telecom and Network Support team and providing work direction and oversight to staff employees and contractors.

The Telecom and Network delivery team’s key responsibilities are:

  • Operational and technical support of data, voice and video network infrastructure, including:
    • LAN & WAN including external connections
    • Cisco IP Telephony
    • Cisco Telepresence Video Conference system
    • Internet Services
    • Cybersecurity & Network Security devices
  • Telecommunication Regulatory filing
  • Operation and administration of various toolset
  • 2-Way Radio system, and in-house Microwave links
  • Digital Signage System
  • Public Address General Alert (PAGA) System

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with business users for the identification of initial business requirements and scope definition for any new opportunities
  • Coordinate development of procurement plans and ensure appropriate business justification and approvals are obtained
  • Ensure adequate level of engagement and support from business and IT service providers in all networks and telecoms implementation initiatives
  • Responsible for the design and development of the Networks and Telecoms team organization, support model, job portfolios, security and control processes and application system management processes
  • Ensure availability and reliability of supported networks and telecom systems within service level objectives
  • Develop annual budget for networks and telecoms initiatives and base support as part of the planning and budget process
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Project Managers and Leads in networks and telecoms project execution
  • Provide on-site coordination for management interfaces and approvals during project execution
  • Support the IT Manager and Program Manager with the planning and execution of networks and telecoms work programs
  • Support the IT Manager with external interfaces and communications related to networks and telecoms implementation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in an IT-related field (Required)
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience (Preferred)
  • Knowledge & experience in supporting networks and telecoms in an Oil & Gas upstream industry (Preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with teamwork orientation
  • Excellent decision making, business judgement, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Able to initiate change and to implement new processes with the ability to motivate and provide leadership
  • Excellent analytical and comprehension of business needs, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSP) and global, diverse-culture teams (Preferred)
  • Arabic language skills will be an added advantage
  • IT Network Operations experience (Required)
  • Certification like CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) (Preferred)
  • Project Management experience (Preferred)
  • Proficient in the ITIL framework and hands-on experience with ITIL processes
  • Sound knowledge of IT telecom and networking systems
  • Hands on experience in telecommunications, including knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of network & telecommunications systems
  • Hands on experience in networks, including sound knowledge of switches, routers, wireless access points, network protocols and IP address management
