Job Summary | The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Veterinary Technician that will perform various tasks related to the care and treatment of animal patients in a specialized anesthesia clinical service area. This position will have the opportunity to cross-train with the Large Animal Anesthesia and Small Animal Anesthesia Services, with a focus on Small Animal Anesthesia Services. Requirements for Additional Job Levels | Consideration for entry-level Veterinary Technician requires: 1. Associate’s degree or higher in a technical or scientific field related to the area of assignment. 2. Active license as a Veterinary Technician, have met all requirements to become licensed, or have passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). Veterinary Technician certification or license must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Level II requires all of the above plus 2 years of experience. Level III requires all of the above with 4 years of experience. Consideration for entry-level Veterinary Technician Specialist requires: 1. Associate’s degree or higher in a technical or scientific field related to area of assignment. 2. 3 years of experience in the performance of advanced/specialized veterinary technician duties or in Veterinary Technology. 3. Active license as a Veterinary Technician or to have passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) and have met all requirements to become certified as a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS). Salary range is determined by eligibility for Level I, II, or III. |
