Who we are:

The UK Delegation to the OECD (UKDEL OECD) represents UK interests at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The OECD is the largest grouping of likeminded democracies in the world, with a membership of 38 countries accounting for nearly 50% of the world’s GDP. The OECD’s mission is to promote stronger, cleaner, and fairer economic growth and raise employment and living standards based on shared values – better policies for better lives.

At UKDEL OECD you will be on the frontline of tackling the most pressing global challenges. We harness OECD data and expertise to support evidence-based policymaking and standards, and enable our UK delegates to exchange ideas and best practices with likeminded counterparts for a sustainable and inclusive future.

You will work in a fast-paced and diverse team to help UKDEL OECD deliver top HMG priorities, including in the areas of economic resilience, trade, gender equality, external relations, climate, energy, development, and tech and digital. We are committed to providing interns with substantive professional development. The work will be demanding and, to get the most from the opportunity, you will need to be a flexible, committed self-starter. In return, we offer real responsibility in a supportive and dynamic environment.

UKDEL OECD takes wellbeing – including mental health – seriously. While our work is driven by the OECD calendar, we promote flexible working as much as possible.

Interns are valued and full members of the team, and we believe that teams are most effective when they are diverse and inclusive. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who may not have considered a career in economic diplomacy and policy before, perhaps from traditionally underrepresented socioeconomic backgrounds, and those who – while highly motivated by the OECD’s mission and area of work – may incorrectly believe that their profile does not lend itself to these roles.

  • Keeping track of relevant media in the area of work;
  • Identifying further opportunities for the UK to benefit from the OECD’s current and future work streams to achieve UK policy objectives;
