We are seeking an experienced Advocacy and Policy operator to fill this important role in shaping Climate Councils Policy and Advocacy agenda.
- Lead Climate Council’s engagement with priority State Government decision-makers
- Manager a small team of Campaigners in the delivery of priority advocacy campaigns
- Be on the frontline of delivering effective advocacy which leads to stronger climate action
About the role
The Climate Council is looking for an Advocacy and Policy Director to join our Solutions team.
Reporting to the Head of Advocacy, the Advocacy and Policy Director will be central in our efforts to inform communities and decision-makers about the importance of stronger climate action this decade, and advocate for practical solutions that will support Australia tackle the Climate crisis.
This is a permanent full-time role working 38 hours a week, with the ability to be flexible in how you work your hours across the week as required.
As an Advocacy and Policy Director at the climate council you will:
- Have 6+ years experience working in advocacy, policy or politics with some climate sector experience
- Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to think outside the box when it comes to advocacy activities
- Exceptional stakeholder and project management skills, including proven delivery of effective advocacy campaigns
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience managing and supporting team members in the delivery of priority advocacy campaigns
