Strong Group are currently working with an established and financially-stable M&E Building Services specialist based in Gloucestershire who are actively searching for a capable Electrical Estimator to join them on a permanent basis.

Producing both competitive and negotiated tenders in various sectors, the ideal candidate will have experience of working on tenders to +£1M.

MS Office proficiency is key

Reporting to the Contracts Director

Job Description for an Electrical Estimator:

  • Timely and accurate submission of tenders
  • Preparing tenders for internal adjudications
  • Vetting incoming tenders/offers from our supply chain and ensuring that the most viable offer is included within our submission
  • Arranging tender adjudication meetings and explaining to the attendees the project duration, costing approach and risks to the business

Skills and Behaviours:

  • Commercially astute being able to identify and manage risk and to anticipate issues that may affect costs and address them proactively
  • An eye for detail and proven ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive with the skills to assess better systems of work in order to advise and assist clients on systems that will save time and money
  • Ability to take project ownership whilst under support of the project Director and work both on their own and as part of a wider multi-discipline team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar position with an M&E contractor or in the M&E division of a main contractor. Experience in the commercial office and warehousing sector would be an advantage
  • Ability to estimate costs and timescales accurately and work to meet tender return deadlines
  • Competent in the use of computers and data handling including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • General understanding of other MEP disciplines, BREEAM and Sustainability

Salary for an Electrical Estimator has been quoted as £40,000 – £50,000 pa + pension + 25 days (+8) holiday + discretionary performance-related bonus.

Working hours; 8.30am – 5pm
