| Position Details | The Wesleyan Writing Center supports Wesleyan students in all aspects of their academic writing. The workshop offers peer tutoring and mentoring programs to support the diverse range of Wesleyan writers. The center, in all its work, fosters an environment of collaboration and encouragement. Undergraduate tutors and mentors are trained to work with students in all academic disciplines on all forms of writing. They engage students in the writing process and help students build skills and confidence that they can bring to current assignments and apply to future writing. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Writing, and with close oversight from the Director of Academic Writing and Assistant Professor the Practice in TESOL, the Ford Fellow plays a central role in the Writing Center administration and development. In addition, the Ford Fellow collaborates with the Assistant Director and Director of Academic Writing to develop new Workshop programs and outreach efforts. The fellow will have an opportunity to grow their skills in event planning, teaching, public relations and project management. Responsibilities include:

| Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree Demonstrated writing proficiency Demonstrated creativity Interest in teaching Exposure to event planning Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills Effective critical thinking skills Demonstrated ability to take initiative Excellent working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact collegially with individuals of different backgrounds Ability to work some evening and weekend hours. |
