About the opportunity

The Centre for Continuing Education is looking for an Administrative Officer to perform general administrative duties and provide support across a number of work areas. The role requires strong interpersonal, administrative and organisation skills, and tasks involve answering queries from customers and facilitators, planning and scheduling of the Centre’s public course programs, updating website information, editing course materials in line with the University’s brand guidelines, and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service. The successful candidate must be happy to undertake ad-hoc duties and projects appropriate within the classification level as required.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • provide general administrative services and customer support to the work areas

  • assist in the planning and scheduling of CCE’s public course programs

  • respond to stakeholder enquiries, ensuring communication is clear and timely

  • maintain website information

  • maintain records and reporting for the work areas

  • assist in preparing presentations and reports

  • undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.

About you

  • proven admin and customer service experience

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service.

  • excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail

  • demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement

  • advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint and Word), confidence using multiple information technology platforms

  • an all-rounder with the ability to prioritise workloads and work across multiple areas simultaneously

  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or the equivalent in training and experience

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position
