About the role:
Baptcare has a professional spiritual care team of over 30 Spiritual Care Coordinators (SCC’s) working in all service areas. We are looking for an experienced, articulate and competent Spiritual Care Professional to work as part of the Spiritual Care leadership team, based in Camberwell office but visiting Residential Aged Care homes in Victoria and Tasmania.
The position is permanent part time (0.8FTE), four days a week.
he position requires excellent supervision and management skills for supporting a team of ten Spiritual Care Coordinators.
Tasks include:
- Management, leadership, and resourcing of SCCs across operational sites and teams, strengthening the integration of Spiritual Care across the organisation. Supervise SCCs using an Action Reflection model.
- Recruitment of suitably qualified, experienced and mission aligned SCs, in consultation and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop strong partnerships and engagement with Baptcare operational managers and leaders in relevant business units, providing a consultant resource for quality and mission integration in whole person care.
- Coaching, resourcing, and coordination of professional development for team members in spiritual care, focused particularly on their operational context.
Skills and experience:
- Skills and experience in management and leadership including recruitment, training, and supervision. Experience, training, and commitment to professional supervision as both a manager and supervisee.
- Tertiary theological qualification and Clinical Pastoral Education (min. 2 units) or equivalent. Eligible for or progressing towards registration with Australasian Association of Supervisors – Category 3 membership.
- Experience in successfully training/managing/supervising volunteers.
- Experience and skills in administrative duties including data collection, reporting on outcomes and budget management.
- Experience in effective leadership within a mainstream Christian faith community, diverse cultural backgrounds and community development leadership or experience would be desirable.
- Spiritual and theological maturity, open-mindedness and an understanding of a range of religious and spiritual traditions.
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively in a culturally diverse environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the capacity to explain the practice and possibilities of pastoral and spiritual care to people from varied backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and other office software.
- Certified Membership of Spiritual Care Australia will be highly regarded.
- Current Driver’s License and own car.
