As an Accounting Team Leader, you will coordinate the production of monthly/annual financial statements in order to provide reliable information on the company’s economic situation (in compliance with Belgian (Begaap, VAT, ISOC, etc.) and international (IFRS) standards) and ensure the development and day-to-day organization of the Belgian accounting team.

YOUR ROLE

  • You are responsible for the monthly and annual financial statements of Belgian and Spanish legal entities;
  • You guarantee the accuracy of analytical accounting;
  • You ensure that Belgian accounting systems comply with legal and tax standards;
  • You support and collaborate with the local tax firm to ensure that Spanish entities comply with local/regional/federal tax regulations;
  • You ensure that accounts are properly justified and documented;
  • You manage the audit of the annual financial statements;
  • You organize the reconciliation of ICO accounts on a recurring basis;
  • You manage and develop part of the accounting team;
  • You organize the distribution of tasks to ensure operational continuity;
  • You ensure good communication and transmission of information with the rest of the accounting team and the other departments;
  • Through accounting analyses, you assist the management of the Finance department in achieving its objectives and implement its strategy;
  • You manage process optimization and accounting improvement projects;
  • You contribute to ERP optimization and the IFRS project.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Master’s degree with an economic focus;
  • 5 years’ professional experience in a similar position and prior experience in team management or project management with coordination responsibility;
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and BEGAAP standards;
  • Good knowledge of the Belgian fiscal environment (VAT, ISOC);
  • Good knowledge of ERPs and Excel;
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English (minimum intermediate level);
  • Good deadline management and organizational ability;
  • Good stress resistance and adaptability.
