PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

  • Are you passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people?
  • Are you an experienced practitioner in Out of Home Care or Family and Community Services?

You are exactly who we’re looking for! Here is your chance to step into a role where your actions create positive outcomes for young people. An opportunity with a continuous focus on learning, developing, and upskilling one another to achieve great results.

The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people, and families. We particularly focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW.

We truly believe in creating a space where collaboration is key to our development. We offer a great salary package with benefits, and we are a team that supports one another and likes to laugh the way.

Anglicare NSW is seeking a Carer Support Practitioner to join our team in an ongoing capacity. You will be working to grow and develop our pool of authorised carers through undertaking carer recruitment activities, assessments, and organisation of Carer training programs to ensure they can provide therapeutic parenting to children and young people.

You will work closely with Foster and Kinship Carers alongside the Permanency Support Program (PSP) Foster and Kinship Care Team to support high-quality care arrangements for children and young people.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute community engagement strategies and partnerships for carer recruitment
  • Participate in foster and kinship carer assessment interviews and activities
  • Contribute to carer reviews and assist in organising carer events, including training sessions
  • Assist in implementing Therapeutic Response Plans, especially with carers
  • Collaborate on creating a carer-to-carer mentoring program and overseeing its progress.

If you bring:

  • A Diploma in Community Services, human services, social work, or welfare or equivalent
  • Experience in working with children, young people, their families, and carers
  • Experience in cultural strengths-based practice with Aboriginal people, families, and communities, then…

Here’s where your journey begins. We are excitedly awaiting your arrival!

What can we provide you?

  • Full-time and fixed-term contract
  • A competitive salary range of $82,043 to $88,288 annually, plus 11% superannuation.
  • Beneficial salary packaging under Anglicare’s PBI status
  • Other benefits, including additional personal leave and paid parental leave.
