Summary:

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Administration of the Psychology and Neuroscience unit, the Assistant Department Coordinator is responsible for providing a high level of administrative support to the Associate Chair of the department with tasks related to academic scheduling, updates to university databases, and information (e.g. syllabi collection) for the Psychology program.  The Assistant Department Coordinator maintains compliance, efficiency, and accuracy of all course scheduling records, spreadsheets, and correspondence related to academic support.  Responsibilities include administrative support for the department’s Main Office; coordination and communication of various department-sponsored events and activities, including booking travel, meeting logistics, and catering for faculty, students, and guests. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

 

Education equivalent to high school completion with at least one year of relevant experience with the substance use recovery process, treatment community, and criminal legal system, including incarceration or community supervision such as probation or parole. Certification in peer recovery services through the Commonwealth of PA is required.  Must be comfortable working with a computer.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

 

·       At least two years of related experience in an administrative office (student worker experience will be considered).

·       An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Preferred:

 

·       Bachelor’s degree.

·       Experience working in higher education settings with academic faculty and students. 

·       Familiarity with Temple University systems (TUMarketplace, Concur, Outlook, Office 365, policies and procedures.

 

This is a grant funded position.

 

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
