Job Summary

The Driver will provide transportation for vulnerable beneficiaries to participate in MHPSS activities while also transporting MHPSS staff to/from home visits. Driver will ensure a safe, comfortable and confidential environment while transporting beneficiaries. Driver will be responsible for ensuring timely pick up/drop off and must obey all driving rules and regulations. Driver will work in direct support of the program providing transportation, abiding by the SP Code of Conduct. Position responsibilities include the operation of Samaritans Purse vehicles safely and responsibly, ensuring up to date proper maintenance through preventative services for the vehicle. Performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritans Purse with a generous and serving spirit.

 

Job Duties

1- Serve staff and beneficiaries with creativity, kindness, and generosity

2- Communicate with MHPSS staff if they think beneficiary needs referral or additional supports

3- Drive the staff to and from beneficiary homes located North and South of Sinjar mountain

4- Run errands as instructed by the PM as needed

5- Be on time to pick up staff

6- Ensure fuel funded by the organization is used only for authorized work in the field

7- Ensure safety of the vehicle, goods, self and SP staff at all times

8- Maintain professional cleanliness and appearance of the vehicle at all times, both inside and outside

9- Complete daily inspection of vehicle, assuring the following are working: headlights, brake indicator light, brake fluid is at operational level, radiator fluid is at operational level, power steering fluid is at operational level, engine oil is at operational level, windshield fluid is at operational level

10- Pro-actively perform routine maintenance and inspection on vehicles. Respond to any issues in a timely and appropriate manner, communicating issues and action required to the line manager

11- Complete daily vehicle log, recording the details of tasks and journeys made throughout the day

12- Adhere to the organizations health, safety, and security rules

13- Enforce the SP policy that ALL employees wear their seatbelt when the vehicle is on and moving

14- Adhere to the SP Driver Policies and Regulations, obeying all governmental road laws

15- Participate in MHPSS awareness trainings and support with additional program activities as assigned

Complete other activities as directed by the Line Manager and performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritans Purse with a generous and serving spirit.

Skills Required

Education / Experience Needed

Must possess a valid drivers license for Iraq.

Must have a valid ID for passing through checkpoints

Must pass the SP driving test
