Position description
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, India and the United States, is seeking a program assistant to support the work of its Washington, DC-based Democracy, Conflict, and Governance Program. This renowned program analyzes the state of global democracy and international efforts to build democracy, reduce conflict, and strengthen governance.
The program assistant will provide administrative support to the program, including coordinating and planning internal and external meetings and events, making travel arrangements, preparing expense reports, performing database work, doing social media outreach, writing external program communications, and interfacing with program partners. This is an excellent and demanding early career opportunity for an energetic, organized individual interested in Carnegie’s mission.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding organizational and logistical skills, strong time management and multitasking abilities, a can-do attitude, a collegial personality, strong attention to detail, and the ability to think on their feet. A B.A. is required as well as some experience with administrative work.
