Position Summary:

The part-time Naturalist role works Wednesday through Saturday with the occasional evening or Sunday. Earthplace is looking for a self-starter who can be a team player, is passionate for animals and the environment, and is skilled with presenting programs to children. 

While this role focuses on implementing programs for children, families, and adults with disabilities, we encourage people with ideas and energy for new programming or conservation projects to apply.  

This is a part-time position reporting to the Director of Nature Education and Conservation with working hours that include weekend days. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing programming for adults with disabilities
  • Facilitating weekend programs involving themed birthday parties and crafts
  • Teaching in-bound and out-bound school nature education programs
  • Planning and designing exhibits
  • Back-up responsibilities for animal care as needed
  • Other duties as required
  • Additional responsibilities will depend on applicant’s interests
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies or related field preferred

OR
Work experience: 1-2 years in a naturalist role either paid or volunteer desired

Benefits

Starting wage is $20-$23 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Part-time employees accrue PTO at a rate based on the number of hours worked per pay period.
