The Organisation
Established in 1996, VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria. VACCHO supports and empowers its 33 Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) members to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.

Your Impact
You will lead a small team to implement VACCHO’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Strategy focused on self-determination, strengths, participation, ethics, and Aboriginal knowledge to improve evidence quality and best practices in Aboriginal health. You will do this by:
- Implementing VACCHO’s Outcomes Framework, overseeing systems for measuring progress and producing VACCHO’s Annual Impact Report.
- Supporting transition to outcomes-based funding, leading change management initiatives related to MEL.
- Building organisational capabilities in MEL, focusing on leadership, resourcing, skills, and systems.
- Providing training and mentoring on MEL to project teams, integrating frameworks into their work.
- Developing tools and resources to assist teams in MEL implementation.
- Contributing to the development of health intelligence databases and other system solutions for efficient data storage.
What you bring
You are a motivated people leader who has demonstrated experience in designing and implementing MEL frameworks, plans and strategies particularly within the Aboriginal Community-Controlled or within the broader not-for-profit sector. You also have:
- Experience in program design and development including leading MEL strategies and systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues
- Experience in coaching teams in best practice MEL processes
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet project outcomes with the ability to be flexible due to changing circumstances
- An ability to support organisational culture change whilst managing sensitive information with confidentiality and impartiality
