See AttachmentsNorth Somerset Environment Company (NSEC) is seeking an experienced and qualified/part qualified Health, Safety & Facilities Co-ordinator to be part of its Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) team, responsible for the effective management of related safety compliance and facilities maintenance.NSEC operate in multiple sectors including municipal and commercial waste management, and highways maintenance, including managing and maintaining multiple facilities including depots and offices, waste transfer stations, and household waste and recycling centres. NSEC, in partnership with North Somerset Council, is responsible for collecting recycling and waste from over 100,000 homes and commercial businesses across North Somerset, along with managing Household Waste Recycling Centres at Backwell, Portishead and Weston.The role is based at our Weston super Mare Offices, with travel around our North Somerset sites. The Company would consider a part qualified candidate who would be sponsored to fully qualify and develop their future within the Business. You would be joining the Company at a very exciting time, as we are set to expand after successfully bidding for new contract services. NSEC have also launched a five-year Business Plan focused on service delivery excellence and commercial growth.The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and/or enthusiasm in health & safety, conversant with relevant legislation and best practise.
  • An understanding of basic facilities management (FM) functionality inc. managing in-house and contractor maintenance teams
  • Professional qualifications and accreditations although training sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
  • Experience in undertaking and writing risk assessments, safe systems of work, inductions, and training packages.
  • Background in a waste, highways, and/or logistics management environment.
  • Excellent people skills and a participative team member.
  • Ability to build excellent business relationships with teams, key stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • IT literacy with experience of Microsoft Office suite and be able to interpret business systems
