Position description

Banyan Global is recruiting a Pakistani MEL Manager to support an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Pakistan project focused on women-led businesses, access to capital, and entrepreneurship. The MEL Manager will support a range of activities related to performance monitoring, assessments and studies, learning, and capacity strengthening. The position is full-time, based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Responsibilities

  • Build high quality monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning system for the project;
  • Design and implement annual outcome-level performance monitoring; baseline data collection; sector, geographic, and needs assessments; and topical and geographic research (including contextual analytics) related to advancing women’s participation in Pakistan’s economy, specifically women-led businesses, access to capital, business development services (BDS); entrepreneurship; policy reform, social norms, and the gender digital divide;
  • Ensure high quality throughout monitoring, evaluation and research activities including the design of activities, development of qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments, data analysis, and the presentation of findings;
  • Provide technical assistance to project staff and its implementing partners to identify appropriate performance and context indicators and standardize definitions and norms for common reporting across diverse partners and sectors;
  • Conduct supplementary analysis of existing USAID, academic, or government source data;
  • Support MEL training, workshops, capacity building events and related initiatives for project staff and implementing partners;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as monitoring and evaluation, data science, statistics, development studies/affairs, and social sciences;
  • At least five years of experience working in MEL, preferably on USAID or other donor-funded awards in Pakistan;
  • Professional experience involving issues related to women-led businesses, access to capital, business development services, entrepreneurship, policy reform, social norms, and the gender digital divide;
  • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative data analysis software packages;
  • Demonstrated familiarity with ADS 201.
