About the opportunity

Headspace Horsham provides early intervention mental health services to young people aged 12 to 25.

As a Youth Peer worker at headspace Horsham you will support young people in their recovery through a community services approach by using your life experience, experience of mental health and wellbeing challenges. This may include sharing parts of your lived experience of help-seeking and recovery when supporting young people and when engaging with communities.

What’s on offer

In addition to base salary plus superannuation, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and access to the full $15,900 salary packaging benefits.

About you

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Practical knowledge of issues faced by young people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges and their families.
  • Ability to use lived experience of mental health and wellbeing difficulties and recovery to provide support to others and engender hope.
  • An ability to balance personal and professional boundaries.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of people.
