POSITION SUMMARY:
HIAS Ukraine is seeking to recruit a GBV Capacity Strengthening Officer who is responsible for the implementation of GBV programming to mitigate risk, increase survivors access to services, and strengthen multi-sectoral referral pathways, especially in supporting capacity building of local organizations.
Key responsibilities:
- The GBV Capacity Strengthening Officer is responsible for supporting the supervision of our local partners programs in the South and East areas.
- Engage local activists and organizations with community-based interventions that will support a wide range of GBV prevention activities at the community level. Assist in capacity building with community, local, and national stakeholders.
- Conduct service mapping and maintain referral lists and contacts for relevant organizations in the work area.
- Provide support, supervision and mentorship to our partners case managers, coordinate with protection and health stakeholders in service delivery and further develop necessary referral pathways to health, protection, legal and other services for support.
- Identify key advocacy messages to share with GBV Cluster and government ministries and our Advocacy and Communication Department.
- Support in the development of curriculum, guidelines, training, and educational materials.
- Establish clear capacity building plans in coordination with project managers, project officers, logistic and safe and security staff.
- Mentor partners organizations in report writing, MEAL in GBV and any other GBV program management area.
- Responsible for organizing and conducting training in GBViE, Case Management and other training related to the Gender and Gender Based Violence sectors.
- Prepare detailed budget for capacity building programe.
- Foster integration with MHPSS Team.
- Support in representing HIAS GBV Program at Protection Working Groups, GBV Working Groups, and other meetings as directed by GBV Coordinator to present challenges and concerns and to coordinate work with other service providers and other humanitarian actors.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in social work, psychology, law, or gender and development studies (or related field) required;
- Minimum of 3 years with at least 2 years in GBV specific sector, preferably with a non-governmental organization or activist organizations;
- Experience working directly with vulnerable populations and knowledge of GBV Guidelines and Principles;
- Proficiency in case management;
- Strong skills in facilitation, mentoring, and training local organizations;
- Strong experience in working for or with local organizations;
- Believe in the power of WLOS and WROs and support them for their leadership;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills;
- Great critical thinking and capacity to solve problems;
- Strong motivation in feminism and GBV;
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Fluency in English preferable; Ukrainian and/or Russian languages is a must;
- Self-starter with an ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work in a demanding, changing, and high-pressured environment.
