Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to achieve organizational goals in Israel.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the country team in Israel, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation Proposes and develops a strategy for the programme in the country in line with organizational capacity and expertise;
  • Maintain a strategic vision for Search in Israel, driving growth, fostering partnerships, and ensuring overall program quality and impact.
  • Lead the development and management of programs aimed at promoting conflict transformation, peacebuilding, and social cohesion.
  • Together with the Palestinian director and our teams, identify opportunities for program expansion including cross-border People2People programs and adaptation to address emerging needs and priorities.
  • Ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs to achieve desired outcomes and impact.
  • Mobilize resources and secure funding to support ongoing and future program activities.
  • Identify, cultivate and secure promotes funding opportunities from from new sources and models and leverage the impact of the organization in the country;
  • Develop and implement an effective resource mobilization strategy, in line with the program strategy, to ensure financial viability and promote growth.
  • Keep abreast with donors’ strategies, develop strategic partnerships with donors and present Search’s country strategies and achievements;Provide leadership in formulating project proposals in line with the country context and its country strategy.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with national and international stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations, and donors and philanthropic foundations and individuals, to maximize Search’s impact and influence in Israel.
  • Negotiate and network at both national and international levels to leverage resources, expertise, and support for program initiatives.
  • Represent Search at senior-level meetings, conferences, and events, advocating for our mission and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Support the professional development and capacity-building of staff, promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure effective communication, coordination, and collaboration among team members and with other country offices and headquarters.

Qualifications:

  • Typically Masters degree in International Relations, Conflict Studies, Social Entrepreneurship, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in leadership roles within the peacebuilding, humanitarian, development sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the Israeli context, including political, social, and cultural dynamics.
  • Excellent networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multi-faith and religious-secular, left-right political, and public-private sector stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a multipartial team in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Hebrew (additional languages a plus).
