We are looking for a lead consultant with international experience that can support MoHD and regional hospitals to build capacity on IPC through a training-of-trainers model, develop and review IPC guidelines and SOPs. This will entail delivering training to Ministry of Health central personnel, regional health teams, and regional hospitals to enable them to conduct cascade training in six regional hospitals. This will include two trainings incorporating practical sessions in Hargeisa and Burao and potentially work within hospitals to support this roll out.

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in improving IPC practices in hospitals, including experience of developing IPC policies and guidelines and designing and delivering training in Somaliland and also someone to bring in best practice internationally.

The consultant maybe be able to access support from UK health professionals with expertise in IPC who work with King’s College London through King’s Global Health Partnerships.

KGHP works with health facilities, academic institutions, and governments to strengthen health systems and improve the quality of care in four countries: Somaliland, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.

KGHP has been working in Somaliland to help strengthen the health system and improve the quality of care since 2000. We work with our partners to improve quality of care and patient safety. We also support education and in-service training for health professionals, and strengthen policy and regulation, hospital management, and research. Key partners include the Ministry of Health Development, the Ministry of Education & Science, health regulators, medical and nursing schools, and hospitals.
