Brandeis University seeks an Associate Director of
Corporate and Foundation Relations
to join our team of
fundraising professionals in the Institutional Advancement
Division.

 As one of the few undergraduate liberal arts-focused R1

 Position Summary

 As an integral member of the Institutional Advancement
team, the Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation
Relations
plays a pivotal role in advancing the
university’s philanthropic efforts. Reporting to the Assistant Vice
President of Corporate and Foundations Relatons, this position
collaborates closely with university leaders, faculty, and external
partners to secure vital funding from foundations and corporations
for the university’s research, teaching, and outreach missions.

 Primary Responsibilities

 Relationship Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of 65+ corporation and foundation prospects
    capable of $100K+ awards.
  • Actively cultivate 20-30 prospects at any given time, ensuring
    alignment with university priorities.
  • Regularly review and qualify new prospects while strategically
    disqualifying others.
  • Engage and mobilize key faculty members and academic leaders to
    enhance donor relationships.

 Proposal Development:

  • Collaborate with faculty experts and university leaders to
    create thorough, compelling, and authorized concept papers and
    proposals.
  • Craft persuasive narratives that resonate with potential
    donors, highlighting the university’s impact and vision.

 Strategic Support:

  • Assist the President, Provost, Senior Vice President, and other
    university leadership in developing proposals, research briefings,
    and talking points.
  • Manage donor meetings, ensuring seamless communication and
    strategic follow-up.

 Special Projects and Supervision:

  • Lead the design and execution of key special projects as
    directed by the Assistant Vice President.
  • Will occasionally supervise CFR team members, fostering a
    collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) with a minimum of
    5 years of experience in academic or Jewish communal fundraising,
    corporate relations, or related fields.
  • Proven success in securing major gifts from corporations and
    foundations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse
    stakeholders. Strategic thinker with a passion for advancing
    education and research.
  • Curiosity about a range of scholarly disciplines and research
    is essential; familiarity and experience with the Jewish
    philanthropic sector and issues facing the global Jewish community
    is a plus.
