Our School
Carinity Education Gladstone is a Special Assistance School providing expert, coordinated support and educational opportunity to secondary school aged young people disenfranchised from mainstream schooling.
Our small class sizes and the regular contact you have with students will allow you to get to know each individual child, build relationships and make strong connections with them. You will have the opportunity to model positive behaviours and be a truly inspirational role model for these young people.
Carinity Education operate four special assistance schools across Queensland, and you will have access to the knowledge and support of a team of passionate staff who are empathetic, friendly, warm, and supportive- a team that create a welcoming, safe, personalised environment for each young person in their care.
About the role
As a Teacher, will be a key contributor in providing assistance and support to students in achieving their academic and personal goals, identifying personal support needs/strategies for overcoming barriers to education, actively encouraging the spiritual growth and cultural development of young Indigenous female students.
What do I need for this role?
- Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in industry area of appointment (e.g. Hospitality, English, Math, Visual Arts, Health/Physical Education)
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- The ability to build rapport with, and support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to assist in their learning
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning and a belief in the possibility of all youth
