Your Opportunity
The Withdrawal Unit at Triple Care Farm provides a 10-bed residential drug and alcohol program for young people aged between 16-24 years. The detox program is maximum of 28 days and integrates medical support with a psychosocial rehabilitation. This program also includes up to six months aftercare support upon program completion.
You will provide holistic nursing care support to young people in a safe and supportive environment. You will work within a plan of care under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Drive and sustain the delivery of high quality nursing care with the nursing team
- Follow the nursing care plan in delivering direct care activities for residents
- Support the Registered Nurse in actioning resident care interventions
- Assist in referrals of severe and complex withdrawals/emergencies to NSW Health
- Observe participant’s progress, issues of concern or changes in treatment needs
- Document all Resident responses to direct care/assistance given
- Maintain the appearance and function of equipment such within the detox unit
- Assist in the collection of clinical data as allocated by a Registered Nurse
- Ensure the maintenance of relevant medication records, case notes, progress notes or documentation for every young person participation
Requirements for Success
- AHPRA Registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- NSW Driver’s License and current First Aid Certificate
- Relevant experience within a similar environment in the AOD field is desirable
- Familiarity with and confidence in working within a harm minimisation and trauma informed framework
- A passion for working with young people
