To provide technical support on the development, maintenance, testing and implementation of a portion of IT solutions in line with business requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Demonstrated ability to resolve first-level IT issues.
- Experience in troubleshooting technical and operational queries.
- Supporting SCOPE implementation, operationalization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring proper information upload and adherence to data protocols within the SCOPE system.
- Automating repetitive tasks using MSPP and scripting tools for process efficiency.
- Designing and developing local applications and tools using WFP standard technology stack.
- Keeping technical systems documentation updated for IT solutions.
- Collecting, collating, analysing, and visualizing data for decision-making and creating management dashboards.
- Managing and administering databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) for data integrity and availability.
- Querying and analysing data to extract insights and generate reports.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions.
- Providing early life support for IT solutions, maintaining system documentation, and conducting unit testing.
- Performing system maintenance, monitoring server systems, and resolving technical queries.
- Ensuring data accuracy and management in SharePoint and NEST protocols.
- Actively participating in meetings and reflecting the IT point of view.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Educations:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Higher education in lieu of work experience
- Relevant, completed university degrees may be considered in lieu of experience with the following conversions:
- Completed Master’s degree: Equal to 1 year of work experience.
- Completed Bachelor’s degree: Equal to 2 year’s work experience.
- For female applicants, 1 or 2 years’ experience may be granted for partly completed studies prior to 2022.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressive relevant work experience out of which at least 3 years in Information Technology.
Desired Experience:
- Has experience resolving more complex technical issues.
- Has experience with the application of client services standards to resolve or escalate clients’ service problems.
- Experience in implementing automation and digitalization initiatives.
Additional Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with automation and Business Process Management (BPM).
- Advanced data analysis and visualization skills in Tableau and Power BI.
- Experience in developing and maintaining local applications using power apps, power automate, and power BI.
- Proven proficiency in installing and testing new hardware (servers, switches, access points) to enhance system performance.
- Familiarity with Server Services management (AD, DNS, DHCP, RODC, FTP, Microsoft Office 365).
- Understanding of cloud technology (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).
- Good grasp of development frameworks and platforms (e.g., .NET, Node.js, React, Laravel).
- Knowledge and skills in database management and querying (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Utilizing development frameworks and platforms (e.g., .NET, Node.js, React) for building web applications and services.
Language:
- Fluency (level C) in both written and oral in English and local languages (Dari/Pashto)

As per specific instructions, the incumbent may require liaising with other internal or external entities, to ensure effective delivery of services and achievement of objectives. The assignments are mostly standard tasks including limited interpretation of subject matter and information exchange between staff in the office, at the duty station and external officials of other institutions to ensure mutual understanding. The incumbent's workload and the assignments will remain under constant guidance and direction of the supervisor.The Administrative Assistant is a position within an office/Division/Bureau that requires basic knowledge of administrative rules, procedures as well as operational standards of a UNHCR office. The nature of certain administrative/personnel functions require discretion and confidentiality.All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description.
