QCOSS is looking for a professional, passionate, and driven In-house Counsel and Governance Officer to deliver high level internal legal advice and supports for QCOSS and the establishment and ongoing management of the legislative, contractual, governance, risk, quality, and business solutions for the new Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Peak body.

You will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in Law (essential) with demonstrated experience to fulfil the requirements of the role including legislative, regulatory and governance requirements of charitable organisations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with people who have experienced trauma and an understanding of trauma informed practice.
  • Demonstrated experience providing expert legal advice on a range of legal topics and providing advice on any matters of complexity within QCOSS projects including potential risks.
  • High level ability to prepare a range of written documents including project proposals and plans, reports, briefings, and policies and procedures.
  • A record of success in building and maintaining relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level demonstrated project management experience including the ability to manage diverse and complex projects within agreed timeframes and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated in board governance/secretariat and management.
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to the work of QCOSS and our commitment to social justice.

What you will get:

We will offer you a flexible, exciting, rewarding full time (38 hrs/week) permanent position in a great place to work.

All this plus a competitive remuneration package between $106,664 – $111,367 per annum dependent on relevant qualifications and experience to fulfil the requirements of the position.

Superannuation of 12% and salary packaging benefits apply in addition to flexible work arrangements including working from home, flex time and time off in lieu provisions.
