The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator, Growing Careers Project to join our family. Reporting to the Project Manager, Growing Careers Project and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will be an exciting role in a dynamic national project, supporting project management team to achieve strategic goals.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordination of GCP sub-initiatives, including, but not limited to: Clifton Strengths Assessment and Workshops
  • Regular Webinars directed at students and parents
  • Careers Education Training for internal teams
  • Project administration support for key Project Governance Groups under the guidance of the Project Manager and other Delivery Team Chairpersons
  • Compiling the agenda, collating papers and following up on speakers/ presenters, tracking and monitoring actions arising, sharing key notes from each delivery team meeting as required
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with GCP stakeholders as required
  • Participate as required in forums, focus groups, steering groups, etc. to maintain engagement in the project

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary level qualification (e.g., business, management, science, social sciences)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project support, administration, or coordination
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing multiple tasks/projects and juggling competing stakeholder priorities and interests
  • A demonstrated capacity to effectively manage and maintain positive working relationships, including across geographically dispersed locations
  • High attention to detail and constructive approach continuous improvement
  • Excellent organisational, administrative (including computer literacy) and time management skills
  • High level communication and influencing skills (verbal and written), and the ability to work positively across a diverse range of views and interests
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children’s Check
