The Policy, Strategy and Innovation Unit of the HIV section, Health Programme Group at UNICEF NYHQ is looking for a consultant to develop communication assets and critical knowledge products related to the Global Alliance Community Champions engagement and advocacy.
Under the guidance of the Global Lead for Advocacy and Partnerships, and Sr. Adviser HIV (Policy, Strategy and Innovation), the Communication Consultant (Content Development) will focus on achieving the following communication objectives:
- Explore innovative communication approaches to advance the Global Alliance objectives, amplifying the voices the Champions to highlight children-related issues on global platforms.
- Advise on the communication engagement efforts of the UNICEF HIV/AIDS Global Alliance Community Champions project, ensuring alignment with the Global Alliance Communication Strategy. This includes supporting the workplan of the Alliance Community Champions to execute advocacy activities effectively and maintain high quality standards.
- Collaborate with Alliance Community and Pillar 4 members to produce quality knowledge products. This involves crafting 12 best practices stories (3 pages each) and compiling five cases studies on structural barriers to access and stigma.
- Collaborate with focal points across Alliance pillar 4 and the Global Alliance Communication and Advocacy working group to assist in policy advocacy activities. This includes crafting briefing materials, key messages, and other assets for the Breakthrough/Global Alliance, including the policy advocacy dashboard. Additionally, the consultant will draft 3 policy advocacy briefs (2-4 pages) on HIV and stigma and discrimination.
- Provide UNICEF HQ and RO members support for implementing public advocacy initiatives and coordinating policy advocacy meetings among stakeholders in countries.
- Copyedit all the work developed by the Alliance Community Champions to ensure consistency and quality.
Requirements:
- Completed profile in UNICEF’s e-Recruitment system and
- Upload copy of academic credentials
- Financial proposal that will include/ reflect:
- the costs per each deliverable and the total lump-sum for the whole assignment (in US$) to undertake the terms of reference.
- travel costs and daily subsistence allowance, if internationally recruited or travel is required as per TOR.
- Any other estimated costs: visa, health insurance, and living costs as applicable.
- Indicate your availability.
- Any emergent / unforeseen duty travel and related expenses will be covered by UNICEF.
- At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.
- Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
