Role Purpose:

The role is responsible for:

  • Sourcing and managing new and existing partnerships that will support ICD in achieving its mandate.

  • Plan, develop, implement, and monitor strategic partnerships with MDBs, DFIs, IFIs, IOs and other key development partners and private sector institutions.

  • Stakeholder value maximization and business-incentive partnerships in line with ICD’s strategic orientations.

  • Lead, monitor, update, and improve core partnerships systems, including, the Partnerships Management Mechanism (PMM), Leads Management Mechanism (LMM), Centralized Leads Pipeline (CLP) and the Centralized Missions Action Plan Matrix (CMAPM).   

Key Functional Accountabilities and Activities:

Partnerships Development:

  • Plan and execute the sourcing of new partnership opportunities, that will help ICD in achieving its goals and better meet the strategic objectives of the corporation.

  • Prepare periodic partnerships activity progress reports and partners workshops.

  • Develop innovative mechanisms for strengthening intra-group and external partnerships to enable additional co-financing volumes and co-investing activity.

  • Position ICD’s value proposition in partnerships fora with other peers within the industry and across ICD’s member countries.

  • Participate in flagship programs in which ICD is a member and leads financing and/or investment pillars (e.g. AATB and TCCA+) and participate in sub-committees, as required.

  • Support the Division Head in all aspects of Partnerships Development, as required.

Partnerships Enablement:

  • Design, establish and develop platforms, alliances, and partnerships with other development partners (i.e., Multilateral Development Banks, Development Finance Institutions, Financial Institutions, International Organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations) aimed at maximizing stakeholder value.

  • Implement partnerships agreements in coordination with relevant Business Units.

  • Lead, plan and coordinate Action Plan Matrices and Country Work Programs between ICD and strategic partners and coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure alignment between ICD’s and partners expectations from the partnership scoping phase to the implementation phase.

  • Support the Division Head in all aspects of Partnerships Establishment, as required.

Partnerships Management:

  • Lead, monitor, update, and make regular improvements in the ICD Partnerships Management Mechanism and related partners/MoUs database.

  • Develop and monitor action plans with partners and relevant stakeholders within ICD and ensure timely implementation and execution of the plans in line with the corporation’s objectives.

  • Monitor and report progress achieved internally against formal commitments taken between ICD and its partners and engage with internal stakeholders to ensure timely achievement of agreed targets.  

  • Foster synergy with strategic partners by participating in strategic events and contributing actively in key partnerships platforms. 

  • Lead, monitor, update, and make regular improvements in the ICD Centralized Mission Action Plan Matrix (CMAPM). Carry out reconciliations between engagements taken by ICD and its Leadership against achieved progress.

  • Lead, monitor, update, and make regular improvements in the ICD Leads Management Mechanism (LMM) and Centralized Leads Pipeline (CLP). Ensure integrity of data provided by relevant BUs. Prepare analytical reports on the CLP evolution, conversion rates and portfolio mix.

  • Support the Division Head in all aspects of Partnerships Management, as required.

Qualifications/ Professional Experience:

  • At least 8 year(s) of experience in the Finance or Banking sector, preferably in an Investment Bank, Private Equity Firm, Multilateral Development Bank, Development Finance Institution, or International Organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, or any relevant discipline is a must.

  • Master’s degree in business management, or any relevant discipline is required.

  • Any relevant professional certification (CPA or CFA) is preferable.

  • Proficiency in Financing and Investment Products (Debt and Equity; Sukuk / capital markets is a plus)

  • Strong interest in Islamic Finance and Impact Investing.

  • Mastery of Excel and advanced PowerPoint presentation skills is required.

  • Time management and Planning.
