We are expanding! We are dedicated to integrating ecological and conservation principles into land and water use, planning, and design. Our projects, ranging from local to multi-state (Texas, Utah, Oklahoma, North Carolina), vary from large-scale assessments to specific site enhancements.

Role Description: We are seeking an Ecologist to lead diverse projects related to ecological restoration, natural area management, site assessments, climate resilience, urban ecology, and green infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and resolving ecological issues in project areas.
  • Managing project implementations, monitoring progress and timelines, and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Conducting fieldwork associated with site assessments, invasive species, erosion, biodiversity, ecological health, and ecological restoration potential.
  • Utilizing relevant city, county, state, and federal environmental regulations in project planning and design.
  • Collaborating with designers and engineers on construction drawings, specifications, and processes for built projects to ensure the conservation and enhancement of natural systems.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and municipal staff to ensure project success from planning to long-term management.
  • Overseeing and participating in trail and landscape improvement work.
  • Effective communication of complex ecological concepts to diverse clients and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:

  • A strong commitment to conservation, land management, ecological restoration, and planning.
  • A degree in conservation, biology, ecology, landscape architecture, or related fields, with a preference for candidates holding a master’s degree.
  • Minimum 1 year experience managing ecological restoration and land management projects with 4 years of experience in ecology-related fields.
  • Knowledge of invasive species, erosion issues, intact plant communities, critical environmental features, and restoration potential. in Central Texas or other regions in Texas.
  • Familiarity with city, county, state, and federal environmental regulations and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in GIS
  • Familiarity with best management practices and ecological restoration techniques in various ecosystems.
  • Ability to perform demanding fieldwork in diverse conditions.
