The initiative named Haya Karima (HK) “Decent Life” is a cornerstone of the Government efforts to tackle multidimensional poverty. HK is a large-scale initiative that integrates and consolidates efforts among national state institutions, the private sector, civil society, and development partners in Egypt. It aims at expanding the umbrella of comprehensive social protection by focusing on meeting the needs of Egyptians in the poorest villages.
ILO is part of the EU action to support Haya Karima initiative. As per its mandate in social protection, the ILO component focuses on supporting the Egyptian government in enhancing the social protection system and extend the social protection coverage to different groups including informal workers. ILO will work closely with the government to develop a social protection floor to ensure people are protected against the different shocks during their life cycle.
Reporting lines
- The incumbent will perform his/her duties under the overall guidance of the DWT/CO-Cairo Director and the direct supervision of the National Project Coordinator.
Description of Duties
- Collect and maintain information from records and reports, compile socioeconomic or other relevant data, and prepare reports on project activities.
- Organize data and information, prepare and maintain records, documents and control systems for the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, preparing tables and drafting selected sections.
- Review and evaluate training coordinators’ reports.
- Prepare background information for use in programme and budget preparations.
- Participate in the briefing of project and other programme related activities.
- Review plans of operations and other project related documents and take appropriate follow up action.
- Carry out specific administrative operational /control tasks for project activities.
- Assist to verify the performance of project outputs and defined activities in line with implementation work plans and set objectives.
- Assist with facilitating logistical arrangements for seminars/workshops/meetings including report preparation.
- Prepare, draft and finalize correspondence including of a non-routine nature requiring search and understanding of administrative, operational and project matters and knowledge of project areas. Undertake quality control of outgoing documents for accuracy of information, grammar and style and compliance with applicable standards. Provide informal translations.
- Perform and/or coordinate other general administrative duties such as those related to attendance and leave recording, office space, registry, inventory and procurement matters.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required qualifications
Education
- Completion of secondary school education. Formal training in accounting and/or finance and administrative field.
Experience
- At least six years of progressively responsible financial and administrative work.
Languages
- Excellent command of English and working knowledge of Arabic language (Oral and written)
