The Facilities Manager will be responsible to oversee all building-related activities including to preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning. The post holder will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and phenomenal efficiency can set you apart among our candidate pool. The goal is to ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) principles surrounding facilities is a must.
- Responsible for setting UNGC sustainability goals and implementing them and reporting in compliance to UNGC rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of carbon emissions control, accounting and reporting is a must.
- Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
- Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
- Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
- Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
- Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
- Supervise all facilities related staff (cleaners, gardeners, security guards etc.) and external contractors.
- Control activities like waste disposal, building security etc.
- Allocate office space according to needs.
- Perform analysis and forecasting.
- Review and coming up with new Facilities policies and procedures.
- Have knowledge of hosting meetings and events supporting DG’s office.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or a relevant field.
- Knowledgeable in Malaysian OSH Management System, the standards, and specifications.
- Certificate in NIOSH will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position.
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Good analytical/critical thinking.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Able to suggest and recommend positive solutions when needed to resolve issues on repair and maintenance.
