We are seeking an experienced Deputy Service Manager (must be a division 1 Nurse with a current registration with AHPRA) for a permanent full time position at our Elizabeth Gates, Singleton service.  You will ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience in aged care.

About the Uniting Singleton facilities:

Elizabeth Gates  – nestled in the peaceful rural township of the Hunter Valley region, a welcoming aged care home in an intimate community of 35 residents. 

Alroy House – With 2 separate households, each with between 24-25 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Your Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

What do we need you to do?

You will have the proven ability to lead and coordinate service strategies in functional areas that include:

  • Working for the continuous improvement of our service in line with Accreditation Standards
  • Facilitating the development of your team to uphold the unique needs of each client
  • Assigning work allocations to team members based on their skills and abilities.
  • Advocating with and for our clients and their families to enable choice and decision making that supports independence
  • Interpreting audits and data, identify trends, provide advice, and implement improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining clinical governance and overseeing the clinical staff to maintain compliance and clinical care
  • Meet KPIs with excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ensure high quality resident care is consistently delivered through out the facility including updating of care plans, wound reviews and medication overview

What do we need you to bring?

  • You will have a minimum 5 years previous experience in aged or community care but if you have extensive experience in Social Services, Management or Human Services and have worked within a similar role, we’d love to hear from you too. 
  • We are looking for someone who has a good insight into the changes occurring within the Age Care Sector
  • We are also looking for someone who has an extensive knowledge of AN-ACC
  • Experience in providing clinical expertise to staff and residents
  • Must be a division 1 Nurse with a current registration with AHPRA.
  • Human resource management and conflict resolution skills
  • Extensive problem solving skills and mentoring abilities
  • Strong communications skills and experience with complex personalities
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify gaps and concerns, to then be able to implement strategies and actions
