About the role
As Amber’s Senior Performance Marketing Manager, you will strategise, execute, manage, report on all aspects of Amber’s performance marketing spend, and help drive our growth engine to rapidly take Amber to 100,000+ customers and accelerate the renewable energy transition. In this role you’ll be handling the end-to-end campaign delivery of in-house paid media activity. You’ll optimise the campaigns and accounts day-to-day to drive performance, ensure the correct tracking & tagging infrastructure is in place, launch hundreds of new ad creatives, and manage the setup and monitoring of experiments and reporting.You’ll work closely with our in-house creative team to put the right message in front of the right people at the right time, helping to reduce our paid Cost-Per-Lead and CAC while scaling our ad spend each month.You will have a huge amount of ownership and autonomy to run Amber’s digital advertising program, and diligently manage all investments made in this area. As a key channel in Amber’s marketing mix, this is a huge opportunity for the right person to make a big leap in their career as well as make an impact on Australia’s energy future.
Responsibilities
- Scale our performance marketing channels via hands-on, day-to-day management of all direct response activity across paid social, display, video, search, and other channels
- Optimise and manage the ad accounts, leveraging best practices and driving industry-leading performance metrics
- Collaborate with the creative/brand team in scaling up the volume of new creative in-market, working closely with our internal creative team to iterate based on performance and insights
- Ideation, implementation and analysis of experiments to provide rapid feedback on which new targeting, bidding strategy, ad creative, and marketing funnel improvements are driving growth
- Optimise on-page conversion rates by testing different landing page designs and copy
- Test bidding to different audiences using our array of first-party audience data
- Report across all of our paid media activity and own core media KPIs such as paid CPL
- Contribute to our overall marketing analytics and attribution models to help draw out deeper insights from the data and think critically about the results
Key requirements
- You have 5+ years experience working in high performing marketing/growth teams in fast growth environments with proven results
- You are an expert in running performance marketing campaigns using Meta Ads, Google Ads and other paid platforms, either in-house at another brand or agency-side.
- You’re a data-driven marketer with a strong understanding of analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and have experience building dashboards in Google Looker Studio or similar
- You are familiar with Google Tag Manager and implementing custom tags, as well as Meta Pixel, Google Ads Conversion Tags and other publisher/3rd-party tags
- You have experience working with creative teams and have a solid understanding of what makes creative successful in performance media
- You are results-oriented and a problem solver, striving to hit goals and find the right solutions to challenges
- You love numbers and identifying the stories they tell. Excellent communicator who can distil complexity into impactful storytelling with data
Nice to haves
- Proven experience in a startup or D2C/e-commerce environment
- You stay across the latest and greatest in the media industry and likely have skill certifications and training under your belt.
- Experience using Amplitude Analytics
- You have worked with A/B testing tools to optimise on-page conversion rates and test different content and features
- A passion for technology, energy and/or the environment

- This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne. We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates. We’ve embraced a flexible work-from-home culture with majority of the team spending a few days a week catching up at our office in the CBD when possible. We expect our team to remain Melbourne based and maintain flexibility between the office and WFH.
