This is an exciting time for The Studio School, an independent
day school, serving children 2-14 years old. We are a diverse,
inclusive, and equitable community that truly educates children
from the inside out. In collaboration with the Board of Trustees,
the school is committed to strengthening the philanthropic mind set
of the Studio School community. This role will support the
establishment of a culture of giving in the school through managing
philanthropic programming, infrastructure, and initiatives. The
position reports to the Head of School.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all constituent records in various databases, including
Veracross. - Revitalize and implement an Annual Giving program that will be
the foundation for establishing a culture of giving at The Studio
School. - Organize, develop, and support other philanthropic initiatives,
such as Circle of Friends and the Gala. - Thoroughly research donor profiles and maintain a list of
prospective, current, and past donors. - Develop and execute fundraising outreach, including
solicitation emails, documents, invitations to events, and
acknowledgements. - Serve as a liaison to the Head of School and Board members to
coordinate fundraising events. - Attend Board meetings as needed regarding support.
- Create timelines and reports to present to executive leadership
and the Board. - Produce background and briefing materials for the Head of
School and Board members for cultivation and stewardship of
prospects. - Submit grant proposals on behalf of the Head of School.
- Execute a strong stewardship and cultivation of donor
support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- High degree of tact, discretion, grace, and interpersonal
skills, including the ability to interact with Studio School
community members - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills, and
knowledge of basic office management techniques, i.e., workflow,
filing systems, scheduling, etc. - Maintain and keep all projects on track
- Excellent computer skills; high level of comfort navigating
database systems, CRM, and application portals; familiarity with
MSWord and/or Google Drive apps. - Ability to work independently and in partnership with
others
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a
related field - 1-3 years of experience in an educational environment or at a
small not-for-profit
Additional Information:
This job is not a remote position yet will offer some
flexibility regarding hours and days. It will be approximately 30
hours a week.
