The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a global program working on the prevention of violence and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. The CPS regional program Southeast Asian University Partnership for Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation (SAUP) supports universities in the Philippines, Timor-Leste and Cambodia in developing curricula for peace and conflict studies. The aim of the program is to support university partners in building their capacities in curriculum design and contextualization by integrating best practices from local/traditional practices in non-violent conflict transformation. The position will focus on the implementation and further development of the PME (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation) component of the program. The position is based at the SAUP hub in Phnom Penh with business trips to the Philippines and Timor-Leste.
Your tasks
As part of your service as a development worker, you will take on the following tasks:
- Continuous conceptual development of the PME system of the CPS SAUP program
- Development and facilitation of planning processes with the team and partner organizations
- Providing technical support to partner organizations in the practical implementation of the PM&E system together with the responsible national and international colleagues
- Ongoing conflict-sensitive monitoring of the impact of the processes and results
- Advise partner organizations in the integration of cross-cutting issues, such as Do No Harm, Human Rights and Gender Equality
- Support reporting requirements of CPS
- Systematization and sharing of lessons learned and best practices within the SAUP network
Your profile
- Master’s in social sciences, Peace and Conflict Studies, Development, International Relations or any other relevant field
- Practical professional experience in the field of impact-oriented PM&E and/or project management; preferably in the field of civil conflict transformation
- Experience in the application of participatory methods of adult education and facilitaton of workshops
- knowledge and practice of conflict-sensitive methods such as the “do-no-harm approach or “reflecting on peace practice”
- Work-related experience abroad, ideally in Southeast Asia
- Strong intercultural competence as well as resilience and the ability to familiarize yourself with different contexts,
- willingness for frequent duty trips in the region
- Business fluent in English
Location information

Willingness to travel on a regular basis is required.
