The Security and Safety Services of the UN City as part of the UN Security Management System (UNSMS) works to enable the conduct of United Nations activities while ensuring the safety, security and well-being of personnel and the security of United Nations premises and assets in Denmark.
The Security and Safety Services of the UN City is managed by UNOPS on behalf of the UN in Denmark and the Security Training and Communications Intern will be reporting to the Deputy Security Adviser (DSA), supporting a variety of tasks and projects related to security and safety training and communications products, to increase security and safety awareness among UN personnel in Denmark.
Functional Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may comprise, but not limited to the following:
- Support the development of security and safety communications products and activities (UN City Security webpage, content creation, presentations, visual materials, video content etc.);
- Support the development of security and safety training products and activities (Security Officer`s Handbook, Fire Safety training package, including motion-video production, etc.);
- Support the development of security training strategy for UN City, as well as Security Training plan for Security Officers, including training needs analysis, coordination and planning of the training programs, assisting with Onboarding program for Security Officers;
- Liaise and coordinate with the UN City Common Services Communications, ICT, UN City based AFP Security Focal Points, utilizing all available mediums;
- Support the development of communication campaigns, security training activities and establishing cohesive and coordinated channels of communication to reach and influence key audiences;
- Support and coordinate security and safety related events, trainings and workshops;
- Assisting in the Pass and ID Office with administrative tasks;
- Performing other duties as required.

Education
- The applicant must be pursuing a university degree such as Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. (or the equivalent) in security risk management, criminal justice systems, security information management, international relations or media/communications is desirable, although not essential, or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date of the internship.
Experience
- While no prior work experience is required, background in the field of security, safety, international relations or media/communications is desirable.
Language Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required;
- Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
