DCA/NCA is in search of a highly motivated and qualified individual for the role of International Advocacy Coordinator (IAC). As the IAC, you will lead the implementation of the JCPP international advocacy strategy and work closely with our partners, including Palestinian and Israeli Human Rights Organisations, the ACT EU office in Brussels, and DCA’s and NCA’s advocacy advisors in Copenhagen and Oslo. Your contributions will be instrumental in influencing international policies and practices affecting Palestinians.
Major Responsibilities:
- The International Advocacy Coordinator will implement advocacy activities in Europe and Israel/Palestine. This involves planning and executing policy and opinion-maker delegations to Israel/Palestine and lobbying for Palestinian and Israeli civil society organisations in Europe.
- Support partners’ coordination and implementation of their advocacy and communication strategies at national and international levels.
- Ensure that the JCPP’s advocacy strategies, messages, statements, letters, proposals, key reports, etc. are evidence-based, of high and consistent quality and according to the agreed-upon narratives, providing a solid foundation for our advocacy work.
- Represent DCA/NCA in external advocacy coordination forums and cultivate strategic relationships with other agencies engaged in advocacy and policy work in/on Palestine.
Key qualifications
We are looking for a robust person with a strong drive, adaptable to new contexts, a person with exceptional political acumen, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong and enduring commitment to work for the protection of human rights and respect for international humanitarian law.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in political or social sciences, journalism, or another relevant field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in advocacy work, including lobbying, policy development, and information provision.
- Strong understanding of international human rights law and international humanitarian law.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English and preferably Danish, including the ability to present complex information succinctly and compellingly.
- Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks, and responsibilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multi-cultural teams.
