What we are looking for:

We seek to recruit a seasoned Global Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist possessing extensive operational experience at a global or regional level. The ideal candidate must have significant experience and understanding of M&E concepts, and an understanding of NRC’s field operations. 

What you will do:

  • Policies, strategies, and guiding documents – responsible for the development of global minimum standards, approach, and guiding documents for areas of work.
  • Capacity development and technical support: Responsible for the development and implementation of M&E training materials and provision of technical support and guidance related to NRC’s M&E systems, procedures, and tools across the organisation. Responsible for the provision of capacity development through seminars, trainings and coaching along the technical reporting lines to HO, ROs and Cos.
  • Negotiation, representation, and networking: Responsible for the representation of NRC at technical negotiations with donors related to monitoring systems, procedures, and tools. Responsible for the networking and representation of NRC at global technical level ensuring NRC’s access to global debates related to monitoring. Contribute to the identification, development, and maintenance of relationships with relevant stakeholders (e.g. donors, UN agencies, NGOs, research- and educational institutions, private sector). 
  • Alignment and coordination: Participate in and contribute to achievements of working and steering groups throughout the organization. Active contribution to increased integration and coordination efforts between NRC functions at all levels of the organization.
  • Centre of Excellence: Contribute to the development and operationalization of the Centre of Excellence for M&E systems and processes in NRC and as such ensure that NRC delivers high quality, effective and accountable M&E in line with policies, strategies, donor requirements, humanitarian sector/ systems, handbooks, and guidelines. Responsible for the pro-active and inclusive management of community of practice, including knowledge sharing, picking up, development and sharing of best practices to staff following M&E policies, handbooks and guidance as well as using M&E tools and systems globally.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years relevant work experience at a global or regional level.
  • Experience of qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience of developing global policies, guidelines and tools for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience developing and facilitating trainings.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience from working in humanitarian/development contexts.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Significant experience and understanding of M&E concepts and approaches. 
  • Very strong drafting and document development skills, including policy and guidance documents and training materials. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of NRC’s field operations.
