Support effective and timely management of evaluations by the UNICEF evaluation policy, UNEG norms and standards, and JCO evaluation strategy.
- The Evaluation Officer’s work consists of providing technical and administrative activities required by the evaluation section to commission and manage credible, independent, useful, collaborative and high-quality evaluation processes for the UNICEF Jordan Country Office.
- In addition, S/He serves as the first signature for the Evaluation Section on all documents related to finance and budget (reallocations, rephases, contract amendments, etc).
- S/He also serves as the section’s OIC when the Evaluation Specialist is on leave.
Support evidence dissemination, use, and knowledge management.
- The Evaluation Officer provides support to ensure that evidence emerging from evaluations is consistently made available and accessible to all internal and external stakeholders for accountability, learning and decision-making, ensuring that learning continues long after the evaluation process has been completed.
- S/He provides support to promote evaluation use across diverse audiences, raising greater awareness of the evaluation function and embedding an evaluation culture among UNICEF employees.
Support coordination and networking for evaluation capacity development in Jordan.
- The Evaluation Officer contributes to the effort to strengthen national ownership of evaluation processes and develop national evaluation capacities.
- S/He provides an invaluable national contextual understanding of the activities of the Evaluation Section, which is particularly important for the development of contextually appropriate evaluation products and for building relationships with national evaluation stakeholders.
- S/He is the first point of contact for national institutions and partners, especially for evaluation capacity support activities.

The following minimum requirements:
- Education: University degree in one of the following fields: social sciences, statistics, development economics, performance management, monitoring and evaluation or other related fields. A degree or certification/accreditation in Evaluation is a significant advantage.
- Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in supporting/or implementing equity-focused evaluations and the management of the evaluation function at the national and/or international level as per UNICEF and/or UNEG norms and standards for Evaluation in the UN System;
- Demonstrate professional technical knowledge/expertise in programme evaluation, evaluation design, data analysis, and reporting. experience in managing evaluation, obtaining analytical skills and ability to summarize qualitative and quantitative data are essential.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Any other UN language will be an asset.
