About the role
This is a casual position covering Uniting playgroups across South-Western Sydney NSW.
This role will require a minimum of 3 days availability Monday to Friday, as well as being available from 8:30am.
About the opportunity
Uniting is seeking an experienced Children’s Worker to join our casual working pool. This role will be responsible for the coverage of Uniting Playgroups across South-Western Sydney – Cabramatta, Liverpool, and Bankstown.
You will be responsible for providing programming and planning with the Playgroup Facilitator to create developmentally appropriate activities to children and families enrolled in Uniting’s supported playgroups.
- Provide and prepare appropriate materials and equipment for playgroups.
- Programme and plan a developmentally appropriate activities and experiences which consider the health and wellbeing of children under five years.
- Facilitate, setup and pack up materials for play groups.
- Program and plan age-appropriate group times, considering the needs within the group.
- Collaborate with the facilitator in conducting Child Assessments and referrals.
- Ability to work in partnership with parents.
- Undertake any other duties as required.
Your Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of Cert III in Children’s Services or related and/or a Cert III Community Services who has worked with children under five years.
- Experience working with children 0 – 5 years old.
- Appropriate theoretical knowledge of children developmental stages.
- Ability to organise age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.
- Experience is designing programs.
- Current First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Able to set up and pack up play equipment, toys, and materials.
- Ability to communicate appropriately with parents.
- Ability to work with an understanding of people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Current Driver’s License (will be required to drive pool cars to playgroups across South-Western Sydney)
- Current NSW Paid Working with Children’s Check
