DRC is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic professional for finance unit in Georgia. The Finance Specialist will ensure smooth, effective, and efficient operations in finance.
The Finance Specialist will undertake the following tasks outlined below:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Support
- Functions as a specialist in Finance within the region
- Provide overall advice, coordination, and technical support to the Finance teams in the region
- Ensure compliance with the finance chapters of DRC’s Operations Handbook
Financial Management
- In close cooperation with Managers in geographical area reinforce existing procedures and systems for financial management and control in compliance with guidelines of DRC’s Operations Handbook, internal guidelines and donor requirements
- Support timely delivery of quality financial reports to donors and internal reports to colleagues and HQ
- Ensure compliance with relevant country statutory and other financial obligations such as tax, levies and statutory returns
- Act as timesheet focal point
- Ensure all expenses are registered in DRC Dynamics in a timely manner and with high level of accuracy
- Act as a focal point for monthly logbook control and fuel cost allocation to projects for Georgia Proper
- Ensure all bank and cash statements are reconciled with high level of accuracy and in accordance with DRC’s month end closure timeline
- Monthly financial briefings to relevant Manager
- Ensure thorough and effective budgetary control in the country programs
- Liaise with relevant Managers on key financial issues for all programs in the country, including co-funding, financial reporting, key variances and any remedial action
- Collecting cash forecasts from all Programme Managers and requesting funds in a timely manner
- Maintain a continuous overview of funding levels and pay particular attention to shared support costs, including staff salaries
- Ensure all required documentation for financial audits in cooperation with Coordination staff and HQ
- Prepare for local audits
- Contribute to the development of proposals with regards to budgeting in cooperation with Managers
Other:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager
About you:

Moreover, we also expect the following:
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Management, or another relevant field is required.
- A minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in NGO sector is desirable.
- Full professional fluency in English and Georgian languages.
- Excellent Computer Skills and an advanced proficiency in Excel are required.
- Experience of working in ERP systems would be advantage.
