OUR STORY

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE

  • SO A $145,046.00 plus District Allowance and Superannuation!

The Manager – Policy makes a major contribution to the formulation of policy positions reflecting Council priorities and in determining and communicating the implications of government policy and programs at the Commonwealth and Northern Territory levels back to Council.

The position operates under the General Manager Professional Services and is responsible for initiating, planning, and coordinating projects and research that contribute to strengthening the Central Land Council’s (CLC) advocacy positions and campaigns across a range of policy priorities.

The position entails a high level of accountability and judgement in interpreting information and devising responses to complex policy issues that impact on the organisation and members.

Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
