Unique opportunity to join our brand new WHS team as a WHS Manager and lead the charge in fostering a culture of safety and well-being.

As the WHS Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing our WHS function. This includes developing and implementing health and safety management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and promoting a culture of safety through collaborative and consultative approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and review health and safety frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Provide advice on the correct implementation of WHS policies.
  • Identify and report hazards and risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and follow up on actions.
  • Manage incidents, accidents, and safety breaches, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement systems for injury management, prevention, and return to work programs.
  • Lead and manage the WHS team, fostering a safety-conscious culture.
  • Conduct regular safety training for staff and managers.
  • Provide regular reporting to executives and management committees.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in WHS management.
  • Experience with NDS practice framework and/or disability sector is highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement WHS policies and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and risk assessment skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience in managing incidents and conducting safety inspections.
  • Ability to analyse data and recommend improvements.
  • Familiarity with injury management and return-to-work programs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization.
