The Livelihood and Field assistant is responsible for implementing seasonal and livelihood projects in the field on a daily basis activity, beneficiaries registration, selection, and distribution of items, engaging in livelihood support activities, ensuring capacity building of the livelihood beneficiaries, establishing linkages with relevant stakeholders, conducting market assessment and ensuring exposure visits to the markets and businesses, and monitoring the implementation and livelihood beneficiaries and activities of Seasonal projects under RAMADAN and SACRIFICE projects. And also, to be involved as per needs for income-generating/ regeneration activities for orphans and their caregivers under the ORPHAN project.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Livelihood Activities:
  • Assist in preparing, implementing, and monitoring the activities under Seasonal projects in the field on a daily basis, establishing linkages with relevant stakeholders, beneficiaries’ registration, selection, distributions, and monitoring.
  • Conduct market assessment and develop training needs assessment tools to cater for the capacity building needs of the livelihood beneficiaries.
  • Lead in organizing training for business owners and farmers.
  • Ensure appropriate selection of project beneficiaries by conducting interviews, registering, and profiling applicants using specific criteria.
  • Support SIF beneficiaries by facilitating orientation meetings, business training, and/or one-to-one counselling sessions as necessary.
  • Travel to project sites on a regular basis to monitor individuals who have received SIF livelihoods assistance under the seasonal projects, ensure that activities are being carried out in accordance with livelihoods guidelines and project requirements, and provide guidance to the senior project officer in order to make necessary improvements or changes to seasonal projects.
  • Ensure that all distributions are organized, managed, and monitored with quality planning and ensuring beneficiaries safety, respect and dignity.
  • Organize and conduct satisfaction and feedback surveys/ post distribution monitoring in order to improve future seasonal projects.
  • In coordination with the senior projects officer, coordinate with the relevant government authorities, business associations, and private sector companies to implement SIF`s seasonal projects.
  • Provide verbal and written feedback to supervisor on progress, lessons learned, achievements and gaps, issues and problems.
  • Conducting site/home visits for all areas of intervention.

 

  • Field Activities:
  • Assist in gathering and reporting distribution figures/information, data collection, surveys, and assessments such as market assessments, vulnerability assessments, and other kinds of assessments as needed.
  • Contribute to planning and executing needs identification exercises through participatory needs assessments. 
  • Ensure timely implementation of project activities, especially seasonal distributions.  
  • Assist in planning and implementing distributions and other program activities.
  • Submit reports on distribution/activities results, challenges faced, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure proper handling and movement of any project documents, files, tools and SOPs.
  • Ensure distributions/activities are conducted with full respect to the humanitarian principles and in an organized and dignified way.
  • Assisting in the creation of any kind of project material, both technical and informational, in Arabic, and/or English.
  • Assist the Senior Projects Officer in the implementation of SIF’s seasonal projects activities as assigned.
  • Keeping the Senior Projects officer up-to-date on trends, achieved results, planned activities, and problems and the possible solutions.
  • Liaise with local authority counterparts, partners, and populations of concern during the implementation of seasonal projects.

 

  • Monitoring, evaluation, and project reporting
  • Write reports on field and office activities after each activity.
  • Report to the Senior projects officer on the progress of activities and potential difficulties monthly and per request.
  • Preparation of success stories periodically.
  • Monthly tracking Report of all program activities.

 

  • Reporting Donors
  • Participate in the preparation of the Livelihood and sessional projects activities and upload the reports to the SIF reporting platform.
  • Ensure the quality and veracity of the information about beneficiaries.
  • Update annually the information about the beneficiary’s profiles.
  • In compliance with internal regulations and data protection protocols, keep accurate means of verification (MOVs) for project activities. Such as data, attendance sheets, activity reports, Beneficiaries profiles, and agreements.

 

  • Implementation of the SIF Child Safeguarding Policy
  • Contribute to the mapping of child safeguarding risks for the sessional projects, the identification of measures to manage these risks, their implementation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure that only essential data to the program is collected and managed in accordance with the principles of “Confidentiality” and “Best interests of the Child”.

    • 1-        Education degree 

      University Degree in a related field (e.g. business management, economics, agriculture or social sciences from an accredited academic university).

      2-        Experience

      ·         Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in social projects, livelihood programs, distribution activities, and stabilization activities.

      ·         Working experience with international organizations is an advantage.

      3-        Required Technical skills:   

      ·         Command of IT software packages (MS Office/EXCEL):

      ·         Ability to generate assessment templates using Google Forms, KOBO, ODK

      ·         Strong analytical and statistical skills/knowledge.

      ·         High writing/reporting capacity.

      ·         Detail Oriented.

      ·         Good Organizational Capacity.

      ·         Knowledge of gender aspects and Protection Mainstreaming.

      ·         Very good ability to work in a team.

      ·         Attention to detail.

      ·         Empowering and building trust.

      ·         Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

      ·         Ability to work under pressure.

      ·         Flexible with travelling.

      ·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

      ·         Ability to present clear and concise information.

      ·         Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

      ·         Have familiarity with child safeguarding policy.

      ·         Ability to handle confidential matters.

      ·         Fluency in Arabic and English is Mandatory.
