Electricity North West is looking for a Threat Intelligence Analyst join our Security Operations team in Preston or Blackburn.This role is office based with the opportunity to work from home, upon successful completion of a probationary period, as and when appropriate.Our roleThe Threat Intelligence Analyst is responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting intelligence data to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organisation’s assets and infrastructure.You’ll be responsible for:
- Monitoring external and internal sources for emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise (IOCs) relevant to the organization;
- Gathering, analysing and interpreting threat intelligence data to identify potential security threats, attack vectors, and tactics used by threat actors;
- Profiling threat actors, their motivations, capabilities, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to enhance threat detection and response capabilities;
- Analysing indicators of compromise (IOCs) and correlate them with known threat profiles to identify potential security incidents;
- Producing timely and actionable intelligence reports and briefings for stakeholders, including executive leadership, security teams, and relevant business units;
- Collaborating with internal security teams, external partners, and industry peers to share threat intelligence and enhance collective defence capabilities;
- Proactively conducting threat hunting activities to identify hidden threats and potential security weaknesses within the organization’s environment;
- Providing guidance and recommendations on threat mitigation strategies, security controls, and best practices based on threat intelligence analysis.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in threat intelligence analysis or related field;
- Proficiency in using third party threat intelligence platforms, tools and producing management reports;
- A deep understanding of threat actors, their motivations, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs);
- Degree in cyber security or professional qualifications and relevant experience;
- Experience in analysing indicators of compromise (IOCs) and correlating them with known threat profiles;
- The ability to produce actionable intelligence reports and recommendations for mitigation;
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, MITRE ATT&CK);
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail;
- The ability and willingness to stay updated on emerging threats and industry trends.
