Finance Officer (m/f)
in Erbil
 

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until March 31, 2025. There are good prospects for an extension. The place of work will be Erbil, in Iraq (IQ) with frequent travel to Dohuk and other Field Offices. The position is paid according to SG7.

The objective is to implement existing financial management standards in the programmes and projects efficiently and promptly, thereby making a significant contribution towards the success of the programme work.

  • Checking and monitoring partner organization(s) monthly financial reports, ensuring correctness of the financial reports arithmetically and administratively, matching voucher list against physical documentation presented, checking its quality and compliance, and ensuring that it is Auditable.
  • Financial management and monitoring (budget planning, budget amendments, extensions, liquidity planning, expenditure monitoring, and expenditure forecasts, cash flow monitoring, fund requests) for assigned projects.
  • Preparing donor financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annually, Interim, and final reports) including Budget vs. Actual reports for the assigned projects.
  • Voucher quality control according to WHH policies and donor’s requirements.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the preparation of the staff’s monthly Income Tax and Social Security calculations for both Federal Government, and Kurdistan Region Government.
  • Checking the cashboxes report, cash count, and monthly bank reconciliations for the assigned project.
  • Capacity to interact and support internal / external audits performed.
  • Strong knowledge and Capabilities of MS Excel is required for this position.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • University degree 
  • 2 to 3 years’ professional experience working in similar position with relevant tasks and responsibilities
  • Fluency in English ,Kurdish and Arabic (written and spoken),
