Policy Communications Manager/Senior Manager

We are seeking a Policy Communications Manager/Senior Manager to join DOT Europe’s Brussels-based team. In this role, you will be the sparring partner of our Director General and help him translate our policy agenda into a strategic communications and event program. You will play a key part in crafting and implementing strategic communication campaigns tailored to resonate with our audience, design and develop all our outreach on social media and be responsible for translating our advocacy into public outreach varying from comms campaigns and to organizing events. You will be the first point of contact for the Brussels-based press and in charge of building long-lasting relations with key journalists using your social and diplomatic skills.
Skills and experience:
- Strategic thinker: You have a strategic mindset and understand what motivates decision-makers, particularly within the EU landscape;
- Creative communication skills: You are a communicator who seamlessly translates complicated digital policy files into understandable language and appealing visuals;
- Campaign development: You can build and implement communication strategies and individual issue-based campaigns;
- Website and social media management: You are skilled in managing websites and social media accounts to effectively engage with our audience;
- Technical know-how: You can develop communications material, including simple videos, graphics, document and presentation templates, for instance, in Canva;
- Media relations: You have proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with the Brussels-based press corps;
- Event organization: You are able to organize events from A to Z: drafting a budget, identifying the right audience, and taking care of all logistics such as venue, suppliers etc.;
- Impeccable English: You possess outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
- Ideally you have minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
